I really wanted to like this book and I tried to stay with it. Unfortunately after half way through I just couldn't take anymore of it. The writing style of the author made it so that I couldn't connect with the characters. It was way to much of TELLING me what the characters did instead of using dialogue between the characters to build the story. For example, instead of saying "Leila wondered what Ezra wanted to do next", it could have read like a normal conversation along the lines of " So what's next ?", Leila asked. Granted it's absolutely fine for the description of what is taking place inside the characters mind to occur. along with describing what is happening. But when 90% of the book is that way, it becomes tiresome, boring and again hard to believe the characters have a connection with each other. However, I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 due to the fact that it is clean and the actual premise of the novel is an interesting one. I wish the author would try again.

I've read books with a grammatical error here or there, but this book was saturated with them. I chose to over look them at first, then I started getting a bit annoyed, finally at 70% through the book I'd had enough. The storyline seemed pretty slow and the errors were overwhelming.I couldn't make sense of the fact that the second kiss Ezra and Leila share (the first being a tender kiss on the hand) was on her neck! That just didn't flow with the morals the characters allegedly had, and the feelings or lack thereof that Ezra was experiencing.The talk of faith and God felt real and not contrived so that's a plus.Overall, this just needed to be more fine tuned. The author may be destined to blossom, but just needs a bit more TLC to get there.On a steaminess level I would rate this a pleasant PG. However, with it's current editing, or lack thereof, I can't say that this read is worthy of a repeat.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. And while it was an enjoyable light read, it is very realistic and true to life. This story includes real life challenges along the way which I personally like. .In this story you will meet Ezra and Leila. As they cross each other’s paths, there is an obvious attraction but there are several barriers to a relationship developing, not the least of which is racial. Besides both of them have determined that they are not cut out for dating. So will anything become of their attraction? Get a copy and find out.Lastly I love how this author tackled the interracial element. This is not a common theme in books. Nicely done.

This was a nice sweet story about a firefighter who accidentally ends up renting the same camp site as a pretty teacher. I used to go camping a lot, so it was fun to read the detailed descriptions of their camping experience. There are the usual doubts and miscommunication to stand in the way of their romance, but I like that there is no big drama to complicate things. Just a nice, clean love story.

This is a romance with a strong element of faith, while the interracial element is really fairly light. Ezra and Leila are likeable and relatable, and the slow journey to commitment is well told. If the prose flowed.more smoothly this would be a five star review.

Sometimes the story flows gently, murmuring over small pebbles. Other times it roils over sharp rocks, as two very different people find their way to one another.Fresquez is a good Christian writer.Recommended for all readers of Christian romance.

This story is a sweet romance. I enjoyed it but wish I knew the answer to the question "Why is Ezra afraid of commitment?" I also wish it was more focused on one person's perspective at a time.
